We are looking for a bright and proactive new team member to join our small and friendly marketing department based at our Welsh Bridge office in Shrewsbury.
The ideal candidate will already have an aptitude for marketing and PR with a good understanding of the industry and a willingness to learn. Great interpersonal and team working skills are essential, along with an ability to multitask and manage workloads effectively during busy periods.
As part of a family business, we are looking for someone with energy, enthusiasm and a great sense of humour, willing to get 'stuck in' and play an important role in our team. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
To provide support to more senior members of the team
Responsibility for your own day-to-day work load e.g. writing features and handling advertising schedule working with the Communications Executive
Develop understanding of UK media, regional and national, consumer and specialist, and social media channels
Research and draft content for editorial features and news stories, as well as for sales literature for Morris divisions, to deadline
Carry out research as requested, including media lists, competitor analysis, venue and promotional opportunities
Securing approvals so PR and marketing plan can run in a timely manner
Begin to liaise with selected media and develop contacts, implement media 'ring rounds' for news releases, press briefings etc.
Compile and evaluate media coverage to a high standard
Maintain effective monitoring of local and national press, and trade magazines and develop awareness of opportunities and relevant items of general interest
Develop an understanding of marketing, design, print, photography and digital, including their relevant terminologies
Accompany account handlers sit in on internal progress meetings, selected client meetings, supplier briefings, photographic shoots, assist at press conferences and other events, take minutes and be responsible for issuing contact reports
This is a full time position working Monday-Friday, 9am - 5.30pm
