In January 2017 Jelf was joined by Bluefin group, which also became part of MMC, bringing together two leading community brokers and client advisory businesses.

Jelf and Bluefin combined have a strong local presence which enables our advisers to provide outstanding levels of service. The combined business works out of 80 offices across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, employing almost 3,000 people.

The Role:

We are looking for a new Public Relations Manager to develop and implement a regional and specialist PR strategy for the combined Jelf and Bluefin business - the SME focussed subsidiaries of Marsh UK. The right candidate will be responsible for driving the PR strategy, ensuring it aligns with wider integrated sales and marketing campaigns and activity.

The role will be directly involved in helping to shape and drive forward thinking communications strategy at a crucial and exciting time for the business, working with a wide variety of colleagues and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Build brand awareness and increase the profile of the Jelf Bluefin business.

Develop engaging PR plans and strategy for all areas of the business.

Provide ownership for press relationships in regional areas for Jelf Bluefin and wider Marsh where appropriate.

Coordinate and create engaging content for external communications, across various channels.

Develop and grow effective relationships with third parties.

Maintain ongoing awareness of industry and business trends that are relevant to the business and its clients, especially in the SME arena.

Work with the wider MMC media relations and communications teams, to ensure a joined up view of media activity and the correct adoption of processes and procedures.

Required Experience

Strong experience within a Public/Media Relations role.

A background within a B2B environment (ideally within the insurance or financial services sector but not essential), or a relevant journalistic background with a strong business understanding.

Knowledge of how PR can be integrated into marketing and sales campaigns.

Excellent ability to develop and grow relationships both internally and with external parties.

Strong hands-on skill set and the ability to produce and edit high quality content, for a range of audiences.

Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

Ability to work proactively and autonomously, bringing a creative approach to PR strategy.
